A: In Australia there are definite rules for the registration of .au domains. You must have a close relationship with the name you are trying to register, such as an exact or close match to your business name, a product you sell or a service you provide. Furthermore, for .com.au and .net.au domains, you need a valid ABN. For .org.au and asn.au domains, your organisation must be a non-profit incorporated body.

For global domains, like .com or .org these restrictions do not apply and you can register any name as long as it is available (not already registered).

A: There are two main requirements to set up a website. The first is the domain name. This name needs to be applied for and registered (eg webineering.com.au), so that this becomes your web address (URL). The other component is the hosting. This basically means that your webite (and email) needs to be stored on a server that is accessible on the Internet. The domain name is then configured to point to the location (IP address) of that server.

A: The time it takes to design and implement a website is often dictated by the client. We will endeavour to meet any deadline agreed upon to the best of our ability. The registration of a domain is usually done within a day. Our web templates can be set up the same day, but it is then up to the client to use the content management system (CMS) to provide the actual content of the site.

A simple custom website may only take a couple of days, whereas more compicated ones can take weeks. The most common delay in the creation and completion of a new website is waiting for content (text/images) to be sent to us by the client.

A: You may move your website to another web hosting service at any time. Once your website design has been completed, you own that website (ie have the copyright to it). We endeavour to provide the highest quality hosting service and support for your site. It is up to you, however, to detemine where you would like to host your website.

A: We fully support any website we design and are always available should you encounter any problems or require any additions/alterations. A lot of our websites (and all templates) have content management systems (CMS) that allow our clients to alter, add or remove content and/or images on the site. We offer site maintenance for all our websites, so that your website need never get out of date. Occasional small updates (such as newsletter uploads, etc.) are considered as part of our hosting service and are provided at no extra cost.
